With over 2000 cars sold, the 135 will always remain as Delahaye’s most succesful model over produced. The short chassis Delahaye competition type had a wheelbase of 2.70-metre, instead of 2.95-metre for the standard 135 model. It was also much lower and lighter. Some 12 Delahaye 135 short chassis were fitted with spectacular bodies and sold as road cars. Chassis number 47380, is one of the rare short and low chassis examples.
This car fitted with Delahaye’s traditional straight 6-cylinder 20 HP (3.6-litre) engine.
It has been offered for total restauration and will be presented at the Concours Pebble Beach when ready.
